Teresa Alfeld is a filmmaker and a graduate of Simon Fraser University’s Film Production Program. She has worked in Vancouver and in Toronto as a producer, director, videographer and editor since 2005. She started her production company Savoy Films in 2012 to handle both her corporate video work and her short dramatic film productions. She has additional experience volunteering as a script supervisor with the Canadian Film Centre. Teresa has recently completed a Master of Arts in Dispute Resolution at the University of Victoria.
With a keen interest in cinematic representations of gender and sexuality, Teresa has written and directed several award-winning short dramatic films including CLOSET CARNIVORE (2004), CHARLIE GAUVIN (2012) and ROADKILL (2013). Teresa’s films have screened at film festivals across Canada, including Out on Screen (Vancouver), The Female Eye Film Festival (Toronto) and the Women in Film Toronto Short Film Showcase.
Teresa began researching and developing THE RANKIN FILE: LEGACY OF A RADICAL in 2011 and completed the feature film in 2018. THE RANKIN FILE will have its world premiere at DOXA on May 3rd 2018 in Vancouver.
